Somerset Day Ilminster Saturday 11th May

Town Criers from around the country will be parading along East Street to the Market Square in Ilminster where they will compete for a variety of trophies – Best Crier, Best Dressed Crier, Escort and Couple, Best Home Town Ambassador.

This loud and colourful event, part of the Somerset Day 2019 celebrations, will see crier will perform twice, firstly in praise of his or her home town, then on a theme entitled "I had a dream".

Between these performances, Ilminster Majorettes will entertain the audience.

We hope to have a cry from one of the youngest Town Criers in the United Kingdom, 10 year old Ollie Pinder-Day.
